Tonight Celeste and I met up with Carman and Wayne to enjoy another great night of Food Truck Thursday. This time it was at the Pomona Fairplex at gate one. The turn out was great. There were six food trucks, one Kettle Corn booth and a Beers on Tap booth. There was also live music and ample seating for people to enjoy there food and beverages. The trucks in attendance were the Go Country Chuck Wagon, Crepes Bonaparte, Calbi Tacos/Burritos, MeSoHungry, Romolo’s, and the Gourmet Genie.
Tonight I decided to try the Taco Trio from the Calbi food truck. The trio came with Pork, Carne Asada and Chicken. I was surprised at the size of the tacos, not your run of the mill street tacos. All three tacos were jammed packed with meat and veggies. Seasoned with Korean spices and grilled to perfection. These were by far the best tacos I’ve had in a long time.
Celeste had the Falafel ala carte and Fish taco from the Gourmet Genie. The three falafels were crispy balls of chickpeas and “magic” spices drizzled with cool creamy tahini sauce. The only magic here was the flavor. Yum! The Fish tacos were chunks of grilled fish, grilled onions, cherry tomatoes, and a dollop of tahini sauce. It was a tasty taco!
For dessert Celeste and I had the Spicy Apple Bottoms from the Crepes Bonaparte. The crepes were filled with lots of apples, cooked with cinnamon, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel. This was fantastic.
It was another great evening hanging out with our friends. Looking forward to our next food truck venture.
