Green Street Tavern

Met up with some great friends of ours to have dinner with at the Green Street Tavern located at 69 West Green St., Pasadena, CA.  We never been to this place and figured we try something new.  From the outside the place looked like a typical tavern, but when you walked inside it was something totally unexpected.  The place had a more refine, contemporary decor throughout.  It did have dark woodwork finish throughout and nice dining tables and chairs.  Some of the wall treatments were made to look like barrel ceilings, giving it a more cozy feel. The rest of the interior decor was nice and simple.  The staff was very attentive and not overbearing.  They had a simple menu to order from and had a full bar.  The dress code was casual to dressy if you are so inclined.

We started off our dinner with an appetizer, the Crispy Calamari, and it was great.  For our main dishes we ordered the following:

Pasta

Fettuccine: roasted mushrooms, grilled‎ asparagus, basil, roasted garlic cream sauce, parmesan

pork-chop

Smoked Pork Chop: grilled, crisp polenta cake, apple bourbon glaze, mushrooms, radicchio

Meatloaf

Wild Boar Meat Loaf: wrapped in boar bacon, mashed potatoes, peas & carrots, demi

lamb

Lamb Tangine: braised in coconut milk, couscous, stewed chickpeas, cilantro, mint, harissa

Everything came out nice and hot and nothing was over cooked.   All in all we had a great dining experience.  I definitely would recommend this place to all my friends and family.  Can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.
